This summer was one of exploration and incubation of ideas. I had the incredible opportunity to work with @ela.leora and @stylogystudio_edithchan / @edithc.style on a really fun and wide ranging collaboration this summer, trying to bring some ideas into focus, pun intended!

One of the things I want to explore more is creativity in a form that can keep pace with today’s timelines and budgets.

I’m using the summer slowdown here in Madrid to test and play with some new elements for upcoming projects this fall. Here’s a little impromptu test I did on my iPhone just for fun.
I originally liked this material and technique for another idea, but playing with it yesterday I think it’s a powerful visual for a different video project that plays with interior vs exterior worlds and how we can lose touch with ourselves in relationships.
Plus I stumbled upon Dark Matter on AppleTV last week, so it’s all coming together to be a nice little creative ride!
The next step is going to be testing ways to make it less intense but still present.

It’s summertime here in Madrid, and things are moving at a summer pace, most of the city is already on vacation.

But this Fall is going to be busy with new projects dropping, and filming and shooting new products and music videos.

Motion is a part of nearly every shoot and marketing plan and I love working with the interplay of stills and motion for creative shoots.

Each one is its own process, but, I love working in both mediums and sometimes they create new ideas and new ways of seeing for the other medium.

This was a long, but l fun day! We shot seven or eight different set ups and looks, both indoors and outdoors all around the Chueca neighborhood in Madrid.

I love capturing behind-the-scenes moments while the band was warming up and getting ready to shoot the Music Video along with some cool stills that we pulled from the role of the Music Video.

The two most underrated parts about shooting a Music Video is a they will never change the music (🤣 IYKYK) to the video, and you always get great music before during and after the shoot. The band comes with his own vibe and soundtrack and it’s super fun.
.
Such a fun time working with @thefosband band and creating the motion and stills that they needed to support the video and their new EP launch!
.

In every stills, motion, or integrated project, I always work with my clients to get the most options from our images and time together.
.
We all need as many content options as possible within our budgets. so in addition to repurposing horizontal footage for vertical video, it's also nice to have the option to pull some stills from the video and get some additional options without extending the timeline of the shoot. We all love to get a dedicated stills shoot, but it's nice to have some options in our pocket to adapt to the project.
.

At the end of last year, I had the amazing opportunity to work with a new band @thefosband creating their first two music videos, and I created a short documentary / behind-the-scenes of the making of their first single on their EP “Volvé con tu ex”
.
This is a short Directors cut with some of my favorite parts of the day filming in a studio in Doha, Qatar. We also shot some press photos and behind-the-scenes images along with the video.
.
It’s one of those days that you always remember as a filmmaker.
.
