What could be better than an evening at a fabulous Manhattan home? One at two fab ones! That’s what happened on Monday night, when @staceybendet and Laurence Milstein (@laurence_ross ) opened the doors to their Upper West Side homes for an intimate Friends of the CFDA Fall Cocktail.
The evening began with savory bites at Stacey’s before moving to Laurence’s abode for dessert and bubbles. CFDA Chairman Thom Browne, Steven Kolb, Chairperson of the Friends of the CFDA Jordan Roth, Amy Fine Collins, Georgina Chapman, and Nicky Hilton Rothschild were among those savoring the special moment.

Mary McFadden, designer, collector, a world traveler, and a renaissance woman, has died at the age of 85 in Southampton.
McFadden received a Coty Award in 1976; she entered the Coty Hall of Fame in 1979, the same year she received the Neiman Marcus Fashion Award.
In 1982, she became the first female president of the CFDA, presiding over a then still intimate CFDA with meetings at her studio at 240 West 35th Street.
McFadden showed her collections on runways in New York, London, Russia, India, South and Central America, and Tokyo. Her works were also exhibited at the Allentown Museum, The Dixon Museum, The Women’s Museum, and More College of Art, Philadelphia.
She was a true American fashion original and will be missed. Rest in peace, dear Mary.

The CFDA Board of Directors is renaming its namesake award to the Isabel Toledo Board of Directors’ Tribute to honor the late Cuban-American talent. Toledo will posthumously receive the newly renamed award, which Ruben Toledo (@Toledox2 ), the designer’s husband, will accept.
The award was originally established to recognize independent designers and to acknowledge individuals whose accomplishments reflect the Board’s values.
