According to @americanprogress , 84.4% of Black mothers are primary, sole, or co-breadwinners, compared to 60.3% of Latina & 62.4% of white mothers.

This #HispanicHeritageMonth , we're proud to celebrate NDWA organizer Evelyn Saz for her resilience in fighting for the rights & protections of domestic workers, mostly women of color and immigrants. Check her highlight out in the @19thnews . 📰
The workers we entrust to care for our loved ones and our homes deserve the dignity of workplace protections. These workers should not have to worry about navigating potentially unsafe work environments. Now California has signed a bill ensuring health and safety protections for more than 175,000 domestic workers like Jo, who work for homecare, nanny, or cleaning agencies.
SB 1350 will bring California into compliance with federal law and will make a tangible difference in the lives of domestic workers in California, giving those that are hired by agencies or third party employers a clearer path to report unsafe working conditions and receive the support they need to address hazards on the job.
This is a historic win for our domestic worker movement.

#LatinaEqualPayDay marks how far into the next year Latinas have to work to make as much as a white, non-Hispanic man the previous year. And for the first time in 20 years, the wage gap has widened.
Latinas are overrepresented in industries like domestic work that are often underpaid and lack basic workplace protections. It’s long past time we close this gap for the women doing some of the most essential work to hold up our economy.
NDWA Philly is proud to stand alongside those in Chinatown fighting to preserve their communities, livelihoods, and culture. The needs of working-class families should always be prioritized.
Domestic work has long been coined as “invisible work,” but those days are over.
Care workers will be recognized for the work that makes all other work possible.
