Meet Ilya.
Sanskrit origin meaning “moonlight.” This beautiful name represents the ethereal glow of the moon.
Just a few days ago, this sweet girl was hiding under a car, afraid and hungry. Now she’s vaccinated, spayed, warm, safe and fed. Every dog is grateful to be rescued but some of them just let you know they truly appreciate the second chance. Ilya is such a dog. She has embraced the safety of her foster home and you can tell she’s so relieved to be off the streets and be safe and loved.
She is about 50 pounds and about 1.5 years old. She is dog friendly, calm, and gentle. She appears to be house trained and does well in her crate. This lovely lady is looking forever home in the Los Angeles area. We think she is part husky, and possibly part #greatpyrenees based on her double dew claws. #adoptme
Harley Quinn is a pug / bulldog mix (best guess). She’s a happy little girl who is playful and sweet and loves playing with other dogs. She’s roughly 7 lbs and we expect she’ll be in the 20 lbs range at maturity. #adoptme
Better?
Better!
Little man had a big day of grooming. Fox tails were removed from his ears and we know he’s feeling 1000% better. Thank you to everyone who donated towards his care.

Apollo is 145 lbs of pure LOVE and THE literal definition of a gentle giant. Apollo is around 5 years old and rolls on to his back for belly rubs with everyone he meets. He LOVES all humans and other dogs. He’s a love machine and just wants to be by your side. He walks beautifully on leash, is potty trained and crate trained.
Apollo is truly a one of a kind dog that wants to pour his love into some very lucky humans. Due to his size and breed he will need a house that has a yard. He loves to sunbathe and roll around in the grass. He would love to have a friend to romp around a yard with or a human who is looking for a ride or die and wants to spoil this precious boy. This breed is notorious for sloppy kisses so interested people need to be aware of that and want to embrace it.

Are you looking for a super cute, pocket pit who’s excellent with cats? Look no further!
Molly is the sweetest little girl who was rescued from the shelter after spending some time there. She’s been hanging out with our friend @lorshots and has proven herself to be a true breed ambassador. This lovely, blue girl is waiting for a forever home to call her own. At roughly 11 months old we guess she’ll be in the 50 pound range at maturity. Please consider filling out an application for her. #adoptme
$5 Monday. These images are what it looks like when a city has no functioning animal control in place. @mayorofla !!!!!!
@laanimalservices stopped picking up stray dogs years ago. When you call about a found dog, the shelter will tell you to “leave them where you found them”.🤬
Animals live on the streets, neglected, hungry and injured. It falls on the shoulders of good samaritans and local rescue groups to pick up the pieces. We’re so grateful to the incredible group of men and women who work in the shadows and ask for nothing. They essentially do the job of animal control, picking up stray and injured animals and hoping to find a rescue to help.
Yesterday we received a request to help these two sweet dogs who are clearly neglected. One had been hiding under a car, and the other had been roaming the streets looking for someone to help him for days.
Every dog we rescue costs usually around $1000. Between spay and neuter, vaccines, grooming, food and supplies, transport and any unexpected medical, often times the number is much greater. This does not include all the man hours of people involved in saving them. There’s so much that goes on behind the scenes. Today, if you’re in a position to donate, just $5 or $10 towards these dogs, we would so appreciate it. You can click the link or you can use the methods below.
As always, we appreciate your big hearts and generosity.💕

If you have adopted from us, you know how important we believe training your new best friend is. That’s why all of our adoptions comes with a mandatory session with our bestie @decodingdogsla
Many of you have asked us for Boot Camp recommendations for dogs who require more intense, longer-term training programs. And that’s where @pawsitivehealingla comes in.
Ames is a dog who has been with us for almost a year now. After being attacked at the shelter multiple times, he developed a severe reactivity towards other dogs. It got to the point where we couldn’t have him in a room with another dog. Jesus offered to do an intensive one week Boot Camp with him. Please take the time to watch this reel and look at his progress.
Please remember that when you send your dog off to Boot Camp, it doesn’t mean that your dog is going to come back “fixed”. And that is why Jesus provides multiple follow up training sessions for you to understand the type of training activities that need to be done in order to continue the progress your dog has made while in Boot Camp. When you have a dog with behavioral issues, you need to be committed to continue the training once your dog is home. And that means carving out 15 minutes to a half an hour every single day to do some one on one training with your best friend.
Thank you Jesus for showing Ames the world is not such a scary place and that he can have positive relationships with other dogs. We are so excited for his future.
Cookie is picture perfect and so very sweet. This very good girl is a roughly 2 year old poodle Maltese (🤷🏻♀️best guess) mix. She is housetrained and crate trained and walks beautifully on leash. She’s kind of a dream dog. She does well with other dogs, but may take a minute or two to warm up as she can be a little shy at first. This lovely girl is waiting to find her forever home. Please consider filling out an application on our website. #adoptme
