Finished the last Mathematics show of the year yesterday in Cyprus. We have one more year of this tour then Mathematics is over for good, and onto the next set of symbols…
It’s been 15 years of releasing these Mathematics albums and it’s been a hell of a journey so far. I wanted to make a collection of the songs I play on the tour, but also just to have all the big songs in one place for fans, or new coming fans, a journey of where its been and where it is now. The tour collection vinyl / CD will also have some voicenotes from me hidden in them, talking about all my memories behind the songs and from tour, so look out for them.
Love being on this journey with you all and excited for what’s next too. Mathematics Tour Collection will be out 27th September, pre-order now, see ya next year for the last run of Maths shows x
I self released all my first projects, and sorta released them into an abyss of nothingness at the time. No one really cared, except my close family and friends. I would go from gig to gig trying to flog CDs with these songs on, praying someone would latch onto them and give me a shot. In the end it was the fanbase that grew organically that was the shot I was given. Songs like Little Bird were on those very first indie releases I did, and has become a fan fav over the years. It’s been so long releasing on a large commercial scale, that sometimes I do forget how it all started. A backpack with a loop pedal, unwashed clothes, and a stack of CD’s. Here’s me singing a song I wrote when I was 17 in a field in Suffolk, 16 years later in a field in Suffolk. Not much has changed eh. Well maybe more tattoos and smaller guitar. Check out Forgotten Favs right now on all platforms, til the next one x
My fav song to perform on this Maths tour is always Bad Habits. By the end of the show, the energy that the crowd still has to give is incredible, and I love seeing the place erupt on the first chorus. Craziest show for it so far has been Paris, but everywhere has had its own slice of crazy when this song drops
Ever since my first show when I was 11, the buzz you get walking off a stage can’t be matched. But the stadium buzz is something different, it’s addictive (hence why I never stop touring). From the first song, I can tell how a gig is gonna be, just from the energy a crowd gives off in the very first moments of a show. Bloodstream is the culmination of all of this in a gig, and it’s probs my fav song (after Tenerife sea) to play in the stadiums. Gonna be sad to end Mathematics, but there’s always new songs to Play.
Find the ‘names in lights at stadium heights’ playlist on all platforms now, hope you enjoy x
Really excited to announce that I have bought a small percentage of my hometown football club @ipswichtown . It’s any football fans dream to be an owner in the club they support, and I feel so grateful for the opportunity. I’ve lived in Suffolk since I was 3, and although I have travelled the world and sometimes feel like an outsider in big cities, Suffolk and Ipswich have always made me feel part of a community and protected. It’s such a joy to be a fan of Ipswich town. There are ups and downs, but football is about taking the highs with the lows. I’m not a voting shareholder or a board member, this is just me putting some money into the club I love and them returning the gesture, so please don’t get onto me with signing suggestions or tactics lol. Excited for the Prem to start this weekend X
